Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 24, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Silver Mountain Technologies ("we", "us"), the maker of the RunGait iPhone app, handles information in connection with the app and the rungait.com website (together, the "Service"). The gait analysis itself runs on your own device: your clip is read where you recorded it, and only the results and the body-landmark data come back to us for grading and history.

The short version. Your walking/running clips are analyzed on your own device. When you are signed in, the clip is then saved to your account along with the results, so you can replay the screen frame by frame and see the tracking drawn over the real video. If you belong to a coaching team, your coach can see those scans and clips. Deleting your account deletes them.

1. Information we collect

  • Account information. If you sign up with email, we store your email address and a securely hashed password (we never store your password in plain text). If you use Sign in with Apple, we store the identifier Apple provides and, if you share it, your email.
  • Screening results and motion data. When you are signed in, the results of a screen (scores, findings, and your training plan) and the pose data (the anonymous body-landmark coordinates the app extracts from a clip) are saved to your account. This powers your history, lets you retest over time, and helps us improve the analysis.
  • Video clips. When you are signed in, the clips from a screen are saved to your account in our secure storage. This is what lets you and your coach replay a screen frame by frame with the tracked skeleton over the real video, which is the point of the review, and it lets us re-grade an old screen with a better model later. Clips are private to your account and to the coaching team you belong to, if any. They are deleted when you delete your account.
  • Subscription information. Purchases are processed by Apple. We (and our subscription provider, RevenueCat) receive your subscription status and related identifiers so we can unlock paid features. We never receive your payment card details.
  • Basic technical data. Standard information such as app version and device type, used to operate and debug the Service.

2. How we use information

  • To provide the Service: run screens, save your history, and sync it across your devices.
  • To operate subscriptions and unlock paid features.
  • To improve the accuracy of our analysis and build better screening.
  • To respond to support requests and keep the Service secure.

3. How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the Service, under agreements that limit their use of it:

  • Apple — app distribution, Sign in with Apple, and subscription billing.
  • RevenueCat — managing subscription status.
  • Our hosting provider — running our servers and storing your account data.
  • Your coach — if you join a coaching team, the coaches on that team can see your screens, including the clips and the frame-by-frame review. Leaving the team ends that access.
  • Our AI writing provider — the optional plain-language summary of your results is generated by sending only the anonymized numeric findings (no video, no name, no email). If you leave this feature off, nothing is sent.

4. Data retention and deletion

We keep your account data while your account is active. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data, including any uploaded clips, by emailing us at the address below. Some records may be retained where required by law.

5. Security

Data is encrypted in transit. Passwords are stored using a strong one-way hash. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

6. Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

7. Your choices and rights

You can delete your account (and with it your screens and clips) from the app, request access to or deletion of your data, and cancel your subscription at any time in your Apple account settings. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA; contact us to exercise them.

8. Not a medical service

RunGait is a training and screening tool, not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat, or prevent any condition. Findings are training hypotheses, not medical advice.

9. Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above.
